Offering remote access from anywhere, Web Server Module makes it possible to check status of industrial systems from office or floor in real-time. Data exchange capability enables communication between several IDEC PLCs over Ethernet network. Remote maintenance allows users to use WindLDR or WindSRV to remotely monitor, download, and upload any ladder program, while web monitoring lets users monitor or update PLC through custom, built-in dialog box.
Sunnyvale- The ability to communicate over an Ethernet network is not an option for most industrial systems, it's a must. With that in mind, IDEC Corporation is now offering a new communication module to its MicroSmart family, a Web Server Module. No longer will users be forced to walk across a factory floor to check on a system's status. IDEC Web Server Modules offer remote "access from anywhere" that makes it possible to check status from either the office or the floor in real-time.

Instant Virtual Extranet v2

Plug-in Network Appliances Enable Secure Remote Access By Browser.

The Instant Virtual Extranet (IVE) appliances, the flagship product line from Neoteris, Inc., are plug-in devices for network administrators that enable secure remote access to corporate network resources for employees or business partners. The appliances themselves are installed onsite, on the organization's LAN, and serve as somewhat of an access proxy; enabling remote users to access corporate servers and applications using only their Web browser as an interface. The remote users connect to the devices using their public Internet connection and existing Web browsers (no additional client software is required); and the device then communicates with the host servers or applications via its built-in support for multiple communication protocols.

Posted on 09:20 by Unknown

Remote Support Software

On-demand Remote PC Control Service Now Includes Downloadable Version: There are now two versions avaialble for remote desktop control over the web. The first version of the support solution is that end-users go to the web site and a support tech's email address in a form to access remote support. Then they click on a connect button to trigger the automatic doanloading of computer remote control software. The software runs on their desktop and connect to the support engineer's system. The automatic download needs a java vm to be installed ont he desktop to download the remote control software and the settings required to connect over the internet. If the VM plug-in is not installed in the browser, a link is present on the web page that the user can click on. That link is to the remote support application. The user chooses run and enters and email address then the software starts remote control software that connect to the support engineer for support.

The delivery of the software and the remote control software is fast. A tech can have on-demand computer remote control software for web-based remote desktop support online that uses two different mechanisms for delivery and connection in his desktop support tool box. This is an improvement of their remote support product over just having the web based VM applet. Unlike some other services who package an IP address and port number in an exe file, this service or more dynamic. If your ISP changes, there's no need to buy another compiled program for remote control, just go to your profile page and change your own configuration without having to compile any code. This is such an enhancment of the service and assits greatly to deliver on-demand remote support software. The program file is available for download, to be placed on thier own servers or delivered to end users using other methods, from our customer's account profile page. Evaluation account holders also have access to the remote support software program. Unlike misrosoft's rdp, this system works through the end-user's firewalls and routers.

" This remote support program lifts the Java VM plug-in requirement on the remote desktop system. It's available for download from our customers profile page and, just as our automatic download enabled network configuration changes at no cost, so does our executable version. This update also makes available other support tools like sending the remote support program via email. It also enables our customers to setup links on their own web-sites for their end-users and customers to download support software for on-demand pc remote control support on the web. We never charge for bandwidth usage, there's no hardware or specialized remote support servers to buy and maintain, and there's NO need to spend thousands of dollars per license or seat plus yearly software maintenance fees. Remote control and support multiple remote desktops on-demand simultaneously (at the same time). Try it free now! There's nothing to lose. "

VirtualClass™ 4.0

Posted on 15:20 by Unknown
OK. So this isn't technology supporting technology exactly but it's a very good example of the use of technologies available to support education. I agree, there are many flavors or variations of the virtual classroom and some of them are quite good. I've even participated in several provided by hardware vendors. I've seen them improve dramatically over the years. As presentation technolgies improve, so do the virtual classroom products.

VirtualClass™ 4.0

VirtualClass version is a multimedia broadcast solution that combines hardware and software to create a virtual classroom over a network.

Teachers can monitor, control, shut down, lock out and broadcast to an individual student's system or an entire computer lab with just one simple click on the VirtualClass keypad. The keypad was developed, based on feedback from teachers, to eliminate the hassle of learning how to use software. The introduction of the keypad allows instructors to simply "plug and play" right out of the box. A new and improved keypad layout with easy access to new functions. New student control options such as: the capability of shutting down a student's screen saver or blacking out a student's screen, and controlling whether a student can log out of a training session. New audio/video enhancements and compatibility. Choosing students is much easier: Teachers can reset the IP address of the student's workstation and re-arrange the order in which the students are numbered.
